On the 2nd of June 2021, the President of ACRCM, Mr. Konstantinos Kiltidis, presented the effects of the implementation of European projects in the reinforcement of the competitiveness and extroversion of SMEs. Specifically, he introduced the NextFOOD project among 80 students of the Rural Development Department of IEK ALPHA, as part of the 13th Education Festival 2021 edition which was organized from 1st of March to 4th of June 2021.
During the webinar the President pointed the significance of the agricultural sector which is the basis of the productive dynamics of Greece. Greece’s agricultural policy is shaped within the framework of the European Common Agricultural Policy. The importance of a common agricultural policy is essential for the sustainable development of the Greek countryside. Sustainable development has been one of the fundamental objectives of the European Union and it is now the priority of the Next Generation EU through the implementation of projects addressing sustainability-related topics (e.g.: environment, natural resources, digital innovation…). The Nextfood project aims to develop an innovative European science and education roadmap for sustainable agriculture.
The timelessness of Education and the “revolutionary” changes of its methods, like the virtual reality in the educational process today, was the major topic the 13th EDUCATION FESTIVAL -the greatest teacher festivals in Greece and Europe powered by IEK ALPHA & MEDITERRANEAN COLLEGE! In accordance with the objectives of NextFOOD project “Educating the Next Generation of Professionals in the AgroFood sector” it was pointed out the need of digital skills and digital literacy among articular professionals.
